Live Text
Realtime multiline text generator: system fonts, color, layout, and animations (type-on, scroll, pulse, wave, dangle). Double-click the Layer preview to edit.
Images as clips
Drop or pick jpg, png, tiff, webp, heic: they loop on the cell with a thumbnail, like a still video.
Smoother deck
Drag generators onto cells (like effects). Collapsible MIDI and Generator sections. BlackHole audio levels fix.
Windows close fix
The X button (and Alt+F4) now quits cleanly — no more Task Manager.

What Aether does today
Deck, cues and crossfader
Stacked layers, a cue grid you can fire live, A/B crossfader, macros to move several parameters at once.
Live sources and YouTube
Video files from disk, YouTube URLs in the pipeline, webcam, NDI on the network and GPU sharing: Syphon on Mac, Spout on Windows. Resolume and OBS come in as layers.
19 GPU generators
Plasma, terrain, particles, starfield, wireform, procedural flight and other native looks: no clips to prep if you want to start from nothing.
74 chained effects
Effects on cell, layer or master. Import custom looks and toggle them live without rebuilding the show.
Native audio-reactive
FFT, kick, pitch and polyphonic voices in the engine. Visuals follow the music with no plugin and no graph to wire.
MIDI Map
Map faders, cells and parameters to a controller. Useful on stage when you don’t want the trackpad.
2D output mapping
Several monitors or projectors. Mapping editor in the DEMO: warp, slices, polygons. Use it tonight, same file as the licensed app.
Italian and English

Why it’s different
What is in 1.1.2
Launch Edition in active development, not a ten-year suite. Today you can map outputs in 2D, pull a YouTube video into the show, use Live Text and images as clips, and quit reliably on Windows. Visuals on the videolabmko channel since June 2026 come out of this software.
Native, not web
Rust engine, desktop UI. The show runs on the Mac even without a network. It is not a page in the browser.
Music in the engine
Native FFT, kick, pitch, polyphonic voices. Generators move with the track: you don’t assemble an analyser.

2D mapping in the DEMO
Warp, slices, polygons on the outputs. You use it without a second app. The 3D editor is evolving; it is not sold separately.

Hardware
Minimum requirements
Aether is a real-time GPU compositor, not a video player. If the computer is below these specs, a spinner runs for a few seconds and the app never opens: that is not a broken installer.
Windows with 4 GB of RAM, Celeron/Pentium (N4000 and similar) or Intel UHD 600 with 128 MB is not supported. Aether will not start on those machines.

What is Aether?

Does Aether do 2D mapping?
Yes. It is available in the DEMO (same file as the licensed app): warp, slices, polygons on the outputs. The 3D surface editor is evolving in the same installer, not a paid-only feature.
Can I use YouTube videos?
Yes. In 1.1.2 you paste a YouTube URL into the pipeline: Aether brings the video into the show library, then you mix it like a clip from disk.
Is Aether a Resolume alternative?
